Heads or Tails Might Not Be The Best Way To Make Decisions

WHO: Anybody or a new mathematical

WHAT: Flipping a coin might not be the fairest or best way to make decisions.

WHERE:
Stanford University and the University of California, Santa Cruz.

WHEN: March 3, 2004

WHY: Mathematical people say that the coin has to flipped in a certain way to be fair every time. In order to make it fair, you have to flip the coin in air in a certain way so that it is even. They say that if heads it facing up then the person who chose head, has a better chance of winning. So the person who chose tails won't really have a good chance of winning.

My Opinion: Some people who flip a coin don't even make it go 360 degrees. So if you need to use a coin for something next time, do it the right way or think of something else. There are so many other ways to chose things if you don't know how to flip the coin right.

140-Year-Old Math Problem Solved By Researcher

WHO: Researcher at Imperial College London.

WHAT: The researcher solved a word problem that was 140 years old. It was first formed during the 19th century. It was a math problem or a formula.

WHERE: At Imperial College London

WHEN: It doesn't really say

WHY: Just to see what the answer would become and for fun. No one could figure it out o he tried and he got it.

My Opinion: That was really cool because it was 140 years old and no one knew how to do it. The person who found out was probably really smart.
