Wreckage of Captain Kidd ship found
WHO: Captain William Kidd and the Underwater Archaeologists from Indiana University.
WHAT: Captain Kidd's ship found underwater, a ship from the 17th century.
WHERE: In the shallow waters off the Dominican Republic. Only 70 feet off the coast of Catalina Island in the Dominican Republic.
WHEN: On Thursday December 13, 2007
WHY: The underwater archaeologists team, from Indiana University went underwater for a research. While they were there, they found a ship wrecked underwater in crystal water by the Dominican Republic. That ship was from the 17th century by a captain named Captain William Kidd. He was known as a pirate or a privateer.
My Opinion: This ship was from a long time ago, so obviously it was wrecked and all dirty. Captain Kid shouldn't have left it there and then go away just like that. It was a good thing that that underwater archaeologists found the ship because then they wouldn't have got all that information on Captain Kidd. Even though Captain Kidd filled his whole ship with really precious gold, silver, silks, and other East Indian merchandise, he just left the ship in the Caribbean and sailed to New York. That was a really bad choice to do with all that merchandise in it. He just let it sink in the ocean! Overall this article was so interesting!!!
